Thanks to our partnership with Kintegra Health, we offer a telehealth clinic here at our school. Students, who are experiencing a minor illness or condition, can be seen by a medical provider virtually.

Open House

Southwest Middle School will host a drop-in Open House on Monday, August 10 from 5:00-6:30 p.m. We look forward to welcoming our students and families for a great start to the school year!

Sixth Grade Orientation

Southwest Middle School will host sixth grade orientation on Thursday, August 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. We look forward to welcoming our students and families for a great start to the school year!

Innovation School

We are one of 10 innovation schools in Gaston County Schools for the 2025-2026 school year. This means we offer creative programs designed to give students new ways to learn, grow and succeed.

Student Support

We provide in-school tutoring in English, math and science to help students succeed. The program focuses on building confidence, strengthening skills and keeping students on track in their classes.

Students have opportunities to get involved in Math Elite, Battle of the Books, robotics, band, chorus, and CTE classes that help build real-world skills.
